It's that time of the year once again. This week sees us hit the bright lights of Las Vegas to wow the crowds at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016, and we've got all the gossip on the big product reveals.

Samsung at CES 2016

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 is the world's leading annual gathering for all the latest in consumer technology. Last year, we showcased our own contributions to the growing world of IoT (the Internet of Things), true UHD TVs, and 360° sound right from your living room.

Catch up on all the big announcements from the Samsung press conference below.

An Audio Visual Revolution

Unbeatable picture quality. Unparalleled immersion. That's the mission statement behind Samsung's newly unveiled collection of SUHD TVs – one of which snapped up a CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award in the Accessible Tech category. But it is the ability for all of the 2016 Samsung Smart TV range to be Internet of Things ready, and act as a SmartThings hub, that has got everyone really excited.

If stunning picture quality is what you're after, the new range includes Quantum dot displays for unparalleled colour and true-to-life clarity thanks to new Ultra Black technology for minimal reflection glare. Pair that with true High Dynamic Range (an industry first), and you have some truly jaw-dropping visuals.

In short, Samsung's range of SUHD TVs set a new standard for the viewing experience of the future, and have an interface to match – a new ‘Smart Hub' interface looks set to redefine the user experience, pairing with ‘Smart Control' remote to give you the power to access all your favourite content from one, easy-to-use controller.

Nothing goes better with stunning visuals than beautiful sound – all thanks to an immersive 3D experience provided by a new Soundbar equipped with Dolby Atmos technology. An evolution of the existing Wireless Audio 360 series, this new speaker is further enhanced by two wireless rear speakers for incredible 5.1.4-channel sound.

Smart Appliances for a Smarter Home

With the reveal of the Family Hub Refrigerator, Samsung has introduced a whole new product category to the market. A sophisticated multi-tasker ready to take its place amongst the Internet of Things, this wi-fi connected appliance is much, much more than just a way to keep the groceries cool.

Able to communicate with every smart appliance in your home, the Family Hub's 21.5inch full HD screen acts as your digital family command centre, letting you schedule the family calendar, share photos, pin the kids artwork, or leave a quick note – and all with a quick swipe of the phone.

It can even read your groceries to decide what you need, tracking expiration dates to cut down on waste using three high quality cameras inside – available to access at any time on the go. You'll never forget what's in the fridge again.

Other digital appliances showcased included the revolutionary AddWash, the first washing machine to let you add to the wash at any time during the cycle, thanks to a Front Load Washer integrated with a unique AddWash door. The existing POWERbot Robot Vacuum range also sees two new additions in the POWERbot Turbo and POWERbot Essential Wi-Fi. Both come equipped with Smart Control wi-fi connectivity, as part of Samsung's continued efforts toward a fully communicative IoT ecoysystem, and Visionary Mapping Plus for optimal path finding when cleaning.

Gear S2 Goes Gold

Following the success of the Gear S2 watch launch last year, CES sees Samsung debuting not one, but two elegant new additions to the S2 Classic line up. Make a statement with the 18K Rose Gold edition, or stay sleek in shining Platinum. For those already armed with the smartest watch on the block, new straps and watch faces on the way featuring the work of Colombo, Keith Haring, Jean-Michael Basquiat and even Charlie Schultz's Peanuts characters ("Good Grief!") will keep your style fresh.
