David Beckham
David Beckham has cemented his position as a national treasure through his many achievements on the sporting field. Playing for top football clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and LA Galaxy, Beckham's illustrious career has made him a globally recognised name in the world of sport. He is sure to be a great Global Olympic Ambassador for Samsung at London 2012.

Samsung's Olympic Ambassador David Beckham has already nominated his Local Hero, 18-year-old Bermondsey volunteer Gabriella Roseje. "She is an inspiring person, not only successful in her own right but willingly supports those around her," Beckham said.

Zara Phillips
Zara Phillips MBE is a successful equestrienne, having won the World Eventing Championship in 2006, which adds to her team and individual gold medals at the 2005 European Eventing Championship. In 2011, she finished first at the Ballindenisk International Trials and tenth at the Burghley Horse Trials, putting her in contention for a place in Britain's equestrian team in the 2012 Olympic Games.
Zara is keen to promote the London 2012 Olympic Games: "To have the Olympic Games in our country is fantastic for British sport. Hopefully it will encourage more people to take part in sport as well as improve facilities. I'm really excited. There are lots of ways for people to get involved as well, which is really important, as it will feel like it's everyone's Olympic Games, and will be great for the country as a whole," she said.

Phillips Idowu, triple-jumper
Since winning a silver medal in the Triple Jump at the Beijing Olympic Games for Team GB, Phillips Idowu has come along in leaps and bounds. Phillips has won gold medals at the 2009 World Championships and the 2010 European Championships, and is a serious medal contender for London 2012.

Victoria Pendleton, cyclist
Victoria is one of Britain's most successful athletes of recent times. She has won an amazing NINE World Championship Gold medals and Olympic Gold at the Beijing 2008 Games. At London 2012 she will be striving to retain her Olympic sprint title and she will have further medal opportunities in the team sprint and keirin.

Laura Trott, cyclist
In 2011, Laura became World Champion in the Team Pursuit and won gold at the European Championships in the Team Pursuit and Omnium. In 2012, she won gold at the Olympic test event and two gold medals at the World Championships. London 2012 will be Laura's first Olympic Games; she is aiming for gold medals in the Team Pursuit and individual Omnium.

Alex Partridge, rower
Alex has already tasted success, winning a silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games. As part of Britain's rowing squad, Alex will be looking to go one better at London 2012 and win gold. Since the last Olympic Games, Alex has had great success with a gold medal performance at the World Championships in 2009.

Jenna is looking to compete in both the duet and team synchronised swimming events at London 2012. This will be a great opportunity for Jenna to better her three previous silver medals at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Keith Cook, Fencing champion
As British and Scottish Foil Champion, Keith has represented his country and won medals all over the world, including five Commonwealth medals. He has also won a medal in every British Championship for the last five years, and is the Scottish Championship for a record seven times running. Keith is hoping to strike Gold on home soil at London 2012.
