    Karen Horsler
    TORCHBEARER
Karen has been selected as a Torchbearer because of the inspirational strength she has shown in her life. When Karen was four years old she had a hip problem called Perthes and spent months in plaster and couldn't do all the things a four-year-old child could do. She learned how to walk again and eventually was fine. When Karen was 22 she developed a back problem and spent months in a bed and was finally pensioned off work. She spent months in pain and the hospital couldn't find out what was wrong. Karen went on to run 43 miles in the Highland Ultra Marathon. She has now run lots of marathons; her strength and determination is simply amazing.
