    Nicholas Ridgeon
    TORCHBEARER
Nicholas from South Shields has been selected as an Olympic Torchbearer for his work for both South Tyneside and Gateshead Councils. Nicholas brings sport to deprived areas and to those who may not otherwise gain access to such activities. For example, Nicholas brings fencing to the masses in PE lessons throughout the borough. He leads summer schools and organises competitions, working with people of all abilities and disabilities. Perhaps the best example of Nicholas's generosity in bringing sport to the underprivileged is his trip to Zambia, for this he raised £5000. Nicholas is without doubt a good role model and perfect for the Olympic Torch Relay.
