Laura Tollerton
TORCHBEARER
After losing her mother to cancer, Laura started running three years ago to raise money for charity. From struggling to run one mile, Laura has pushed herself to the point where she has run six half marathons and two full marathons in aid of various cancer charities. This has become a passion for Laura, so much so she has managed to incorporate running into nearly every aspect of her life. Laura teaches about the risks associated with drug and alcohol to young people and will often work on a one-to-one basis. Laura has also set up a running club and takes students to charity runs. She has had such a positive impact of people and is a true Local Hero.
