Mark Horton
TORCHBEARER
Mark Horton has been selected as an Olympic Torchbearer for his work as a member of the Ballinderry River Enhancement Association (BREA). This is a charity set up to improve the quality of the river for anglers, walkers, canoeists, and any other group. Four years ago Mark started a project called RIPPLE (River Involving People, Place, @ Leading by Example). The aim is to make the river a healthier place for wildlife and people. Mark's work has become an example to many river trusts across the UK and abroad. With some very innovative ideas and personal drive, he has produced an unbelievable array of groups working on the river. All of this and so much more would not be possible without the guidance of Mark.
