Samsung Electronics today announced that the NX300 will be commercially available in the UK at the end of March from John Lewis and Dixons. As well as the NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D interchangeable lens, it has the first one lens 3D system capable of capturing both still images and full HD movies in perfect 3D quality. In association with the NX300, Samsung also today announced an exclusive partnership with the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt.
Unveiled at CES in January, the NX300 is the new flagship model in the innovative NX series and boasts the updated version of SMART Camera 2.0, a hub of innovative connectivity features. The NX300 delivers useful, advanced and practical features for the professional photographer looking for the very best compact system cameras (CSC), and allows perfect shooting in any environment and for every moment. With its ultra-chic design, the NX300 combines modern and retro elements and will be available in brown, white or black with a contrasting silver band.

With the very latest in Wi-Fi connectivity, the NX300 allows you to share your photographic creations seamlessly between devices and desktops. The Direct Link hot key feature means cherished images can be shared securely at the touch of a button between camera, smartphone and tablet technology. The SMART Camera App, available on Android and iOS, connects your smartphone to your camera via a Wi-Fi connection to flawlessly manipulate, share and back-up images for a complete photographic journey across your favourite devices and social media platforms.
A revolutionary, fast shooting experience will assign even more control back to the photographer. The Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) system enables fast, accurate phase and contrast detection, while the 1/6000 sec shutter speed and 8.6fps continuous shooting mode ensure moments are never missed. The NX300's outstanding imaging performance is complete with a brand new, best-in-class 20.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, capable of capturing high quality detailed images with sharp, life-like colours that are crisp and clear in all lighting conditions.
The compact NX300 makes it easy for anyone to capture professional standard pictures. Samsung's Smart Mode allows you to choose from 14 different settings, such as Creative Shot, Landscape, Light Trace or Action Freeze. Each setting will automatically adjust both aperture and shutter speed in order to obtain the best possible shot. Capturing and reviewing images is also an interactive and user friendly experience with the 84mm (3.31") AMOLED screen and tilt display making any angle of the world easy to shoot, while the hybrid touch screen and 5-way manual key interface is simple and intuitive to use.
Shoot Fast, Share Faster with Usain Bolt
Like Usain Bolt, the NX300 camera is super-fast and allows photographers to be part of the front row action and shoot amazing moments. The 'NX Junior Photographer' campaign will see Samsung and Usain Bolt work in partnership to build on the athlete's natural love of being behind the camera and will see the six-time gold medal winning Olympian, showcase his very own 'Usain Bolt Foundation' to provide equipment and lessons to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
