Is the Gear Fit 2 water and dust resistant?

The Gear Fit 2 has a water and dust resistance rating of IP68.

IP stands for 'Ingress Protection' and tells you how easily it resists water and dust. A rating of IP68 indicates that it can resist water with a depth of more than 1 metre. This means that it is resistant to rain, splashing and accidental immersion, but can still be damaged by water hitting the device with force and by lengthy submersion.

You can maintain the water and dust resistance by following the below tips:

Do not immerse the device in water deeper than 1.5m and for more than 30 minutes.

Take care to keep the device away from running water or water moving with force.

Dry your hands before handling the device, and ensure you dry it thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth after it has been exposed to water.

If your device has been exposed to other liquids, wipe it clean with clean water and then dry with a soft, clean cloth.

The device may lose some of its dust and water resistance if dropped or damaged.

The touchscreen and other features may not have full functionality if used while wet.
