SISA's objective in the area of HDD is to research and develop key advanced technologies that are needed to design and manufacture hard disk drives in volume in order to meet the insatiable storage demands of Information Technology and Consumer Electronic applications. As an R&D center for the Storage Division of SAMSUNG Electronics, our role can be defined as:
(1) strengthen advanced technology by developing technology road maps synchronized with the industry, mid- term core technology, new generation platforms, and new processes for future extendibility, (2) develop specialty technology to strengthen competitiveness of our hard disk drives in terms of performance, acoustics and shock, develop technology for manufacturability and predictive tool, resolve chronic issue occurring during the development process, and (3) enhance our regional advantage by developing strategic partnerships with key suppliers and top talent engineers, actively participate in standardization committees, and perform advanced OEM technical and failure analysis support.
