SAMSUNG Information Systems America (SISA)

wireless networking

SISA's wireless network team focuses on the research and development of emerging wireless technologies that help SAMSUNG create a strong and visible progress in the wireless market. Our current activities in wireless network technology include the design and development of wireless LAN and PAN solutions that support multiple HDTV streaming in a home network, the research of next generation wireless systems, and contribution to IEEE 802 standardization.

Over the last several years we have made significant contributions in both development and standardization, including MIMO baseband and MAC algorithms and simulation platforms. As a member of IEEE 802.11n, we have submitted numerous proposals of which some are currently in the standardization process. Our current project is called HITWAVES. The goal of this project is to research and develop MIMO-based PHY and MAC wireless LAN technologies that support 3 HDTV streams at home. Through HITWAVES, we develop baseband and MAC algorithms for current projects, design and evaluate the new PHY and MAC features for the forthcoming IEEE 802.11n standards. Apply now.
