Samsung Electronics is growing in partnership.

We are forging technology partnerships in new technologies and business areas, thereby securing core technologies that we lack and using our R&D resources most efficiently. We are working to improve our technology sensing capabilities and supplement internal R&D shortcomings by taking advantage of the very best R&D data and resources that the world has to offer. In the process we are internalizing next-generation technologies in core business areas to secure future technology leadership.

At the same time, we are forging strategic alliances with or buying an equity share of various domestic and foreign companies with core technologies as we pursue global business opportunities and cooperate on international standardization. In the process, the senior executives from all concerned parties take part in regular meetings.

Importantly, we have built a system to help predict the future as part of our program to uncover new technologies and secure technology leadership. The foundation is in place for initiating research that will enable us to seize new opportunities with greater efficiency. We also ascertain clearly how competing technologies are unfolding, where the origins of competitiveness lie, and how unique technologies are being manifested. In this way we can offer a direction for our own product commercialization and technology development.

In the future, we aim to be one the major shapers of the global business environment. To this end, we will continue to seek out universities, other research institutes and venture startups that possess valuable new technologies or existing technologies that we lack, and we aim to partner with and/or invest in them. The businesses of Samsung Electronics are also being linked with those of other Samsung Group affiliates to foster cooperative ties and build a technology sharing system for win-win partnerships with venture companies.
