At the computer lab for the visibly handicapped executed since 1997 in order to support the occupational rehabilitation and social participation through the computer education for them「 SAMSUNG Anycom Festival 2005」, the computer competition for the visibly handicapped was held in 29th Nov. 2005.Total 63 people of 29 students who was selected from 10 schools for the blind and 30 citizens compete for the competitionheld in Yongin. As the online computer competition for the visibly handicapped for the 3rd anniversary of opening Anycom (visit anycom.samsunglove.co.kr)’ operated as the part of sharing management by SAMSUNG Electronics in November 2002, SAMSUNG Anycom Festival 2005」expanded the online information search exhibition using the voice software, ‘Screen leader’, the final playoff of online game ‘Bowling’ and playing ‘Yut’. The total subscribers for ‘Anycom’ which opens and operates 71 computer subjects as the online education website are 3,160 reaching half of visibly handicapped using domestic computers and SAMSUNG Electronics plans to promote the necessity and importance of educating the visibly handicapped for computer by opening this competition annually.

SAMSUNG Electronics operates ‘the stepping stone scholarship association' together with Korea National Council on Social Welfare to make circumstances for continuous learning by supporting educational expenses to the disabled university students who learn under difficult situations since 1998. Especially the selected students and volunteer employees visited Dokdo and held「 Dokdo love visit by the stepping stone scholarship students for the 60th anniversary of liberalization」to encourage Dokdo security guards near Dokdo and Ulleungdo from 22nd July to 24th July 2005. The event was held to inspire twenty handicapped students such as Seong Gook Gang (Age 26, sophomore at PR department in Korea Rehabilitation Welfare University) the self reliance will through Dokdo visit and to arouse love of country and Dokdo as the civil Dokdo keeper. The 「The stepping stone scholarship project」which was started in 1998 by awarding scholarship to 13 students of middle school ·high school·university, and it was supported by monthly sponsorship by all employees of SAMSUNG Electronics to support the equal education opportunity by providing the educational expenses to the handicapped university students who are alienated from the education site and total nearly 130 million won of scholarship was granted to 84 students until now.

The project ‘Small sharing Big love' is a program that supports the disabled and derived teenagers and provide funds to the welfare program operated by the social welfare institutions since 1995. SAMSUNG Electronics held the charity ceremony of supporting fund ‘2005 Small sharing Big love' at the Press Center on 19th Apr. 2005.The movement ‘Small sharing Big love’ is SAMSUNG Electronics' sharing management activity of selecting and supporting the 40 groups annually which chooses the final supporting program through the examining associations composed with social welfare industry by receiving the excellent programs expanded by the social welfare institutions.

The 80% of total 167 employees of ‘Mugunghwa Electronics’ in Suwon, Gyunggi province are severely handicapped with 1st and 2nd disorder grade. ‘Mugunghwa Electronics’ is the nation’s first and largest factory of handicapped only which was established by the motto ‘Life of living together’ by SAMSUNG Electronics with the investment amount of 234 million won near the Suwon plant in 1994. And in Oct. 2004, ‘Mugunghwa Electronics’ exceeded the monthly sales amount of 10 million won for the first time in 10 years since establishment. This was the result from the effort of process innovation such as expansion of automatic facility lines and the reduction of unit cost. Also Mugunghwa Electronics’ recorded 670 million won of surplus for the first time since 2004 by proclaiming the self reliance management and operating the continuous management constitution improvement and accomplished the sales amount of 112 million won and the net profit of 500 million won in 2005.

We have been providing the children with leukemia · children tumor with the partial amount of sales profit of Syncmaster monitor through the accumulation events to help children with leukemia · children cancer, so called ‘the miracle of three hundred won’ since 2004. In addition, we hold the magic concert of hope with children and families under supporting and held a concert at the National Cancer Center on the 17th Dec. 2005. Especially at this event, the surprise events such as the magic show, creative toy drama, recreation and the medal award for the child patient of a perfect cure were held so that event was so meaningful in a way of inspiring dream and hope to the child patients and their families.Supporting 12 children with the operation expenses for 2005 was the result of love by SAMSUNG Electronics, its sales agencies and customers.

SAMSUNG Electronics plans to continue the sharing love events which can provide dream and hope for many children in 2006.
