Section 508 Accessability
Samsung Electronics America supports Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the efforts of the federal government in making mainstream technology accessible to people with disabilities. Samsung is committed to assisting its customers in complying with Section 508 requirements.
About Section 508
The Congress of the United States amended the Rehabilitation Act in 1998 to require federal agencies to make their information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology, making available new opportunities for people with disabilities, and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. Under Section 508, all Federal agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information that is comparable to the access available to others.
About VPAT
In 2001, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) created a simple, Internet-based tool
to assist Federal contracting and procurement officials in satisfying the new market research
requirements contained in the Section 508 implementing regulations. This is the Voluntary Product
Accessibility Template, or VPAT. Samsung produces VPATs making them available on our web site,
please visit product pages on Samsung.com as well as on the GSA's "Buy Accessible" web site www.section508.gov
