Published papers are excluded from the review or award. However, a paper that is submitted for review which has been accepted for publication, but not published before December 3, 2007, is acceptable.
Q1-1. If the content has been published in a conference, would I still be eligible to submit the paper?
A1-1. The paper may be submitted if only part of the paper was published in a conference before December 3, 2007 However, the contents should be significantly different from what was already published. The conference in which it was published should be listed on the submission cover page.
Q1- 2. Can I submit a graduation thesis to the Human-Tech Thesis Prize?
A1-2. Yes, however, the paper should be written in the format required by the Human-Tech Thesis Prize.
The author (co-author included) should be a student at the time of paper submission. However, summer graduates (Class of 2007) can still submit a paper for December 3, 2007 competition.
University professors and Ph.D. researchers of SAMSUNG
1st Phase: Each submitted paper will be reviewed by 5 professionals in the submitted .paper's technical area.
2nd Phase (Oral Presentation): Only those students with papers which passed the written. review will have a chance for an oral presentation in front of a closed session of 10 judges.
Undergraduate and graduate papers will be judged on different criteria.
a1. At the written review,
a) undergraduate papers will be judged mainly on the creativity of the ideas
b) graduate papers will be judged on the initiatives, logic, and practicability
a2. During the oral presentation, presentation skills, articulation skills, and ability to answering questions will be mainly judged
The author owns all property rights of the paper. However, the Human-Tech Thesis Prize shares the right to publish the winning papers in proceedings.
If the applying field covers two or more fields, the author should mention them all, in the order of importance.
If each paper satisfies the above requirements, all will be accepted.
