Did you know you can use your Samsung Smart Camera to interact with Facebook and other social networks? Here’s how to upload photos and videos to your favorite social networks with just a few clicks.
When you take a great photo or video, who wants to wait to share it until you get home? With a Wi-Fi–enabled Samsung Smart Camera, you can access popular social networks whenever you’re in range of a wireless hotspot and share your photographic creations.
Before you connect with any social network, you’ll need to make sure you have an account on it. When your account is ready to go, use the touchscreen or menu on your camera to connect to the network. First select Wi-Fi, then choose the Social Sharing icon and select the social networking service you’d like to connect with. You’ll be prompted for your user ID and password. Select Login and you’re done. (If you’ve already logged in with your camera, you may be logged in automatically.) To upload photos or videos, simply browse through your files and select the ones you’d like to upload.
Facebook is the world’s most popular social network, and users often use photos to tell a story on the site. With your Wi-Fi–enabled camera, you can update your status with an image, and even add tags and a message when you upload the picture. Simply select Wi-Fi > Social Sharing > Facebook, and log in. Once you select a photo you’ll be prompted to add a comment of your own, which will appear on the site alongside your photograph.
If you’re a member of Google+ or have a blog published through the Blogger service, you can upload photos to either of them via Picasa. Why not try having a little fun with the Smart Filters feature on your Wi-Fi–enabled camera before you upload your pictures? Apply a cartoon effect or a fish-eye lens, or give your photo a faux ink painting treatment. You can even retouch blemishes and remove red-eye right in the camera. You’ll find these options while viewing your photos in Album mode.
You aren’t limited to just sharing photos with your Wi-Fi–enabled camera. You can upload videos to YouTube directly as well. Want to keep a day’s worth of video in a single file instead of a series of choppy, disassembled clips? Use the Pause button while you’re recording to take a break, then pick the recording back up in the same video file later on.
Smart Filter can also help you add fun effects to your videos. Use the Movie Filter mode while you’re recording to make subjects look like miniatures, or give your video a retro look with the vignetting mode. Just use the Magic menu from the home screen to set up video effects before you start recording.
Web sites like Photobucket are great for letting you share photos with the rest of the world, and for freeing up space on your camera when the memory card fills up. Remember: You can always pull a still frame from a video while you’re watching it. You can also use this feature to trim a video and make it shorter if it feels like it’s running long.
