This year, Samsung showcased a slew of new products at the Consumer Electronics Show that made everyone’s head turn. From our slim, virtually edgeless TVs to our refrigerator that allows you to tweet, Samsung set out to show that its products could create richer, easier and smarter lives.
Emphasizing innovative design and smart features, Samsung generated a large amount of buzz at CES. According to the Business Insider, Samsung was the big winner at CES based on Webtrends results, which tracks company mentions in tweets, social networking and blog posts. So what exactly was everyone talking about? Here’s your wrap-up of Samsung’s week at CES.
Samsung unveiled its new products at its press conference, revealing new TV designs and accessories that make the TV viewing experience more immersive, IT products that embraced futuristic designs and materials, and rich content and services delivered on the fastest networks and displayed on the brightest, clearest screens.
One of the most talked about products was Samsung’s new line of virtually edgeless LED TVs. They feature an ultra-thin bezel, reduced by 80 percent, that blends in easily with the environment and becomes even less of a distraction when watching 3D, providing a more immersive viewing experience.
Also announced at the press conference was the winner of the Samsung Free the TV Developer Challenge, the WeDraw TV living room game from the development team of Alan Queen, Juan Pablo Gnecco, Daniel Gnecco and Elvia Cecilia. WeDraw allows contestants to draw pictures using their finger on a smartphone, with players winning points by guessing another player’s drawing.
Other noteworthy highlights from the press conference:
Samsung’s Visual Display President Boo-Keun Yoon, delivered a Keynote during CES that focused on a new era of digital technology dubbed Human Digitalism, which is driven by the philosophy that companies must look to human nature to inspire technologies more uniquely fitted to the human experience. The keynote was filled with fun and entertaining dance breaks, but the message of the evening was about Samsung’s dedication to giving people access to entertainment experiences that complement rather than disrupt the way they live, emphasizing that the next step in the evolution of consumer electronics is to place human life at the center of the creative process.

During the Keynote, Yoon introduced new TV designs, new 3D features, and unique smart TV partnerships with the following companies:

SOCIOPAPI April 24, 2012Impressive display by Samsung at CES this year. Very well deserved.
SmartShopping January 26, 2012I have to emphatically agree w/"greatgolfer"! My 55" was a 55th birthday present to moi last year. As I approach year 56, this bad boy never ceases to amaze and tantalize the senses! Although I have to admit, I am now intrigued w/the idea of possibly upgrading to the new 65" model...makes the 55" look like 2010! The size would also be a better fit for my media-game room. After all: "If it's Samsung, it's gotta be good!"
