SE-S084D optical disc drive, is the perfect travel companion for ultraportable netbooks and mini PCs without optical drives. The DVD writer was the 2010 winner of a iF Product Design Award for its sleek and modern design. It is 20% smaller in size, 40% lighter, more compact than other optical disc drives in the marketplace and is available in seven vibrant colors with chrome accents.
This SE-S084D is a one of a kind ODD that has multimedia functions as well as data storage functions enabling it to play a variety of file formats (movies, pictures, etc.) and burn CDs or DVDs. This slim external DVD writer is the first ODD to adopt the Touch-type eject button, delivers very fast performance with a USB power source, (no need for a power cord) and provides a direct connection to TV or other AV devices. It also features Buffer Under Run technology to prevent errors that result from writing speeds that exceed data transfer speeds, while also enabling PC multi-tasking.
This ODD is compatible with major operating systems, including Windows 7 and MAC. The new slim external DVD writer operates very quietly and provides a variety of speeds across varying media types: 24X CD-ROM, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD±R recording, 5X DVD-RAM recording, 8X DVD+R Dual Layer recording, 6X DVD-R Dual Layer recording, 8X DVD+RW recording and 6X DVD-RW recording.
