Samsung component technology is playing a major role in the quick expansion of the digital TV market since Samsung is the sales and technology leader in key areas like LCD panels and memory. The superiority of digital technology, particularly HDTV, is motivating consumers to trade in their analog sets for large, crisp, bright digital TVs with their improved audio, added bandwidth space and better reception. As of 2007, 24 million U.S. households already have HDTVs.
