Foundry has effective environmental program

Samsung Semiconductor has instituted a broad environmental program in its semiconductor facilities that cover its foundry operation. Through a combination of low power technologies, programs to eliminate hazardous substances and eco-friendly methods practiced in its plants, the foundry division is doing business in an environmentally responsible manner.

Leader in low power technology

Samsung’s low-power process technology leads the industry. Using 45nm geometries and employing low-threshold voltage technology are just some of the ways Samsung helps its foundry customers benefit from logic chips that require less energy. For example, the latest generation of foundry customer Xilinx’s Spartan-6 FPGA offers high performance with 60% power savings from earlier generations.
