(I had no way to compare, at the time.) My first tablet was also Samsung. In the interim years, I have had several brands of both phone and tablet, all of which have been very acceptable. However, my latest phone is a Note III so, when looking for a new tablet, I looked again at Samsung, and got the Note 2014 - one that I can connect to my Verizon account. The Note 2014 is fast. I don't find the Samsung software intrusive - and, if I wish to install different versions, there is no perceptible issue, i.e., Nova Launcher instead of TouchWiz. I like the Samsung calendar and contacts (although I also use other apps). I use both phone and tablet for productivity, not entertainment, although the few times I've viewed video on the tablet, it's been great. The speakers are pretty darn good, as well - my test is that they actually are loud enough to use for my alarm clock. I often forget to restart my tablet - it is so reliable that it never hangs or gets bogged down. I do use a schedule cleaner, but that was not always a guarantee on other devices. My "gripes", which are not limited to Samsung devices: everything (software and hardware) is geared toward right-handed people, and I am left-handed. I would like to see an option to flip all displays of all software. On the Note 2014, the hardware is pretty "hand-neutral", which is nice. On the hardware, I'd like the stylus to have a leash, and an extra audio jack (could be a dummy) by the stylus silo so that I'm not always in danger of losing the stylus. I have drilled a hole through the top of mine, but since the stylus must go all the way in to disconnect, the leash I added prevents that, so I am always in pen mode. The power port also should NOT be on the bottom. I keep my devices plugged in whenever not in use, and thus must remove the device from whatever case I prefer to plug in the charging cable. There should be a USB port on one of the sides, as well - having to use OTG through the power port is a hassle and, as USB drive functions generally are power-intensive, it would be better to be able to keep the device charging while I'm copying files, playing music, working with photos (my business), etc.. HOWEVER, in summary, I LOVE the Note 2014, and definitely recommend it to clients looking for a business tool. Fast, great display, reliable, lightweight - what's not to love? October 9, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Pokes24 Muscle memory I like the familiarity of the tablet. It's identical (i.e. screen layout, apps, functionality, etc.) to the current phones on the market (Note 3 & galaxy S5). Interlinking and sharing screens between the tablet and phone has never been easier. August 13, 2014
