SAMSUNG SDS venture "Value B"Introduces a series of collaborative C-commerce solutions

A domestic venture company received much attention for introducing a series of C-commerce (Collaborative commerce) platform solutions, which allows collaboration in raw material procurement, product design, production and logistics by using the Internet.

Value B (www.valueB.com: previously CadNPart), a venture company within Samsung SDS (www.sds.samsung.co.kr), announced on June 12 that it has recently developed "BCW," a B2B catalogue solution, and "Seller SPEC," an e-sales solution for efficient management of complex logistics system.

Value B's collaborative solutions are based on operational experience of "CadNPart," an e-marketplace for precision machinery and mechatronics equipment. With the development, C-commerce is expected to gain wider acceptance in traditional industries as a way to enter e-business.

BCW, an electronic catalogue specific for B2B commerce, is ideal for a collaborative solution based on XML platform that links with product design. It works in conjunction with a company's CAD (Computer-Aided Design), SCM (Supply Chain Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to increase productivity in product design. It is cost-effective and is easy to upgrade due to its simplified system structure.

Furthermore, "Seller SPEC" is expected to receive rave reviews for its superiority in the management of SCM, CRM (Customer Relations Management) as well as the complex logistics network. It is a type of e-sales solution, which has been receiving much attention recently.

"Seller SPEC" is seller-centered e-business integration software with BWC, an electronic catalogue. It manages the logistics process from the point of the seller, not the end-customer. For integrated e-marketplace management, it can be easily linked with existing systems such as a company-wide ERP system for exchange of information.

Kyung-Won Park, CEO of Value B, said, "Traditional industries are actively pursuing e-business by adopting systems such as e-procurement and supply chain management, and it will ultimately focus on collaborative C-commerce."

He added that Value B has been operating "CadNPart," a preliminary stage collaborative e-marketplace, and the accumulated experience and knowledge has been the foundation for the development of specific collaborative solutions such as BWC and Seller SPEC, which is considered to have brought about wider acceptance of C-commerce.

Value B is a venture company specializing in B2B solutions, which was spun-off as from Samsung SDS in April this year. It began in 2000 as "CadNPart," a venture within the company specialized in e-marketplace. Its technology has been widely recognized with the development of various collaborative solutions for C-commerce platform.
