SAMSUNG Launches Online Resource for Consumers to Find Appliance Energy Rebates

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., May 5, 2010 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics and home appliances, today announced a partnership with ApplianceRebate.com to bring a new online tool to www.samsung.com, helping consumers find rebates available on select Samsung home appliances through the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP).

“At Samsung, we are committed to providing all the necessary tools to help consumers make an informed purchase decision when considering a new energy-efficient appliance for their homes,” said James Politeski, senior vice president of Home Appliance sales and marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “Our partnership with ApplianceRebate.com allows us to bring important rebate information to Samsung.com, making it a one-stop resource for our consumers to learn about our appliances and available rebates.”

Backed by an initial $300 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the SEEARP is intended to help make American homes more energy-efficient while further stimulating the economy. Samsung customers can now visit www.samsung.com/appliancerebates to access a state-by-state database of rebate listings powered by ApplianceRebate.com available on select Samsung refrigerators, washing machines, and dishwashers. Customers looking to purchase new appliances from Samsung can also calculate energy and cost savings when they upgrade to a new energy-efficient Samsung home appliance.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with Samsung in helping consumers save money and the environment with energy-efficient appliances,” said Lee Guthman, CEO of iClunkit, the company that developed ApplianceRebate.com.

About ApplianceRebate.com
iClunkit, LLC was organized to develop, support and manage ApplianceRebate.com, a one-stop-shop for all rebates on energy efficient appliances. Originally designed to simplify the process for consumers to receive rebates through the new appliance rebate program in the government’s Stimulus Package, the site will continue to assist consumers well beyond the short window of opportunity in that program. Instead of leaving billions of dollars of rebates on the table every year, consumers can save time, money and a lot of hassle by using the site to collect every available rebate on a specific appliance. Utilizing the same source of information as the Environmental Protection Agency to identify zip code boundaries for utilities, the database offers the most comprehensive data available for correctly identifying utility and municipality rebates by zip code. The site then pre-fills all relevant forms, making it easy to redeem each rebate. ApplianceRebate.com also powers the online rebate centers of major appliance manufacturers and retailers.
