“This is a groundbreaking opportunity for Samsung to bring the Galaxy S portfolio to multiple carriers this year,” said Omar Khan, chief strategy officer for Samsung Mobile. . “The best-in-class feature set found on the Galaxy S will truly change the way consumers engage with their device. The brilliant screen and powerful processor will enhance the way they interact with their social networks and keep them entertained with rich content and fast-paced games.”

Industry-Leading Hardware
Samsung Galaxy S devices provide a premium viewing experience with a brilliant 4-inch display powered by Samsung’s Super AMOLED touch screen technology. Super AMOLED technology design yields thinner displays, delivering one of the thinnest, most responsive full-featured smart phones in the industry. Samsung’s innovative display technology makes watching movies, viewing videos and playing games come to life like never before, even in bright light and outdoor environments.

Powering all the Galaxy S portfolio is a 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird Application Processor, which produces amazing 3D graphics, faster upload and download times and supports HD-like multimedia content.

In addition, each Galaxy S device features six-axis motion sensing using an accelerometer and geo-magnetic sensors to provide a smooth, fluid gaming experience when the user is tilting the device up or down or panning the phone to the left or right. The user interface on each Galaxy S device supports a series of advanced touch screen gestures capabilities including multi-touch pinch, long tap and zoom and vertical and horizontal swiping. This series of versatile gestures provide easier and quicker access to many applications including location-based services, Web browsing and digital photos.

Harness Android and Thousands of Apps
Samsung’s Galaxy S portfolio is powered by the open and innovative Android 2.1 platform, with full support of Google Mobile Services including Android Market™, Google Search™, Google Maps™, Gmail™, YouTub™, Google Talk™ and more.

Users can also access the Android Market™ and customize their experience on the Galaxy S portfolio by choosing from more than 60,000 exciting and useful applications.

Stay Connected and Entertained
Galaxy S devices keep users connected with Samsung’s Social Hub, which is an application built around Messaging and Contacts, both of which initiate the sending and receiving of information, whether it is e-mail, instant messaging, social network updates or SMS messages. Additionally, calendar information from portal calendars, such as Google Calendar, and social networking services are displayed together in one calendar with two-way synchronization.

In addition, the Galaxy S portfolio features best-in-class entertainment features, including future access to Samsung Media Hub, a full library of video and literary content powered by some of the biggest names in entertainment. Samsung Mobile looks forward to sharing additional information about Media Hub in the near future. With Samsung’s All Share application, which enables inter-device connectivity through DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) technology, users can send user-generated video content wirelessly to other DLNA-enabled devices, such as TV’s, monitors and laptops, allowing for a rich, interactive entertainment experience.

Additional features of the Galaxy S portfolio include:

Premium Accessories Portfolio
A host of premium Galaxy S accessories, including a convenient multimedia dock, vehicle dock and backup battery charging system, will be available for each Galaxy S device, providing users with an enhanced mobile experience. The small, compact Galaxy S multimedia dock displays all of your favorite content and doubles as a charger for a premium multimedia experience at home or at work. The Galaxy S portable vehicle dock allows users to mount their device to a car dashboard to display turn-by-turn navigation instructions for a safe, hands-free GPS experience.
