SAMSUNG Showcases State-Of-Art Home Network Solutions

SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd is showcasing its new Anynet Interface for simple Home Theater control at the International Consumer Electronics Show here today. The Anynet is among several next generation technologies SAMSUNG plans to unveil to show the direction of state-of-the-art homes using next-generation network solutions.

Anynet allows consumers to preset and automate their SAMSUNG Home A/V System ? inclusive of HDTV, DVD-Combo units, AV-Receiver and Satellite Set Top Box ? by using one, easy-to-use function menu and a single remote control. With Anynet, a consumer will be able watch a DVD in progressive scan, widescreen format and in digital surround sound by simply loading the DVD and pressing the ‘Play’ button. The connected devices will be programmed to know the users preferences and automatically configure all the equipment to the desired user settings from a single remote and using a simple on screen menu. All A/V functions will be no more than two menu selections away.

Today, many consumer homes now have multiple A/V components, each with their own remote controls, on screen menus and method for accessing the device settings, which equals a lot of confusion. SAMSUNG's new innovative Anynet Interface eliminates that confusion and eliminates the clutter and inconvenience of using several remote control devices. The Anynet Interface offers consumers one simple-to-follow button click for enjoying all of their home entertainment options.

Access a DVD Player with a Simple Button Click

By pressing a button on the remote control and selecting ‘Play DVD’ from the Anynet Menu, each component of the Home Theater system will respond to the users request automatically. The DVD player will load the DVD, and begin playing the movie. The Home Theater audio system will be powered on and switched to a pre-selected surround sound setting. The TV will select the DVD input terminal and set the proper aspect ratio for watching the movie, all from the single ‘Play DVD’ command. Consumers can just as easily access their HDTV, A/V receiver or satellite programming using the Anynet Interface.
