Consumers Nationwide Can Capture Life in Motion from a Simple, Affordable Sprint/SAMSUNG Phone

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. and DALLAS - April 26, 2004 - Over the past several years, communication has evolved from voice to text and, most recently, Picture MailSM. Now pictures are ""coming to life"" for the masses with the Sprint PCS VisionSM Video Phone VM-A680 by Samsung: a combo camcorder/phone strategically priced to drive widespread consumer adoption of Video Mail in the United States.
Sprint (NYSE: FON) initiated a communications phenomenon in 2003 with the introduction of camera phones and Picture Mail, with more than 100 million pictures and videos shared on Sprint's nationwide network. Continuing this leadership, Sprint and Samsung are bringing the next Asian-born communications wave of multimedia messaging to the American consumer with the innovative and affordable VM-A680 by Samsung. At an entry-level price of $149.99 after rebates (SRP: $309.99), this newest addition is one of the most affordable Video Mail phones in the United States and will piqué consumer interest in mobile video with its superior screen, camcorder capabilities and easy-to-use services.

""When Sprint introduced a camera phone at an affordable price last year, it created a market for mobile imaging in the United States. We fully expect to do the same with Video Mail and the Samsung VM-A680,"" said John Garcia, senior vice president of sales and distribution for Sprint. ""Customers can now tap into their own inner director and share life in a fun, creative way.""

Marketing this product in earnest, Sprint and Samsung will launch a substantial national advertising campaign to demonstrate the simplicity of capturing life in motion with a device you carry with you everyday. All channels of distribution (Sprint Stores, RadioShack, BestBuy, etc.) also will be aggressively marketing the VM-A680 by Samsung - all aiming to bring about a behavioral shift in the way consumers think about and use their wireless phone.

For a limited time, customers have the chance to win a trip to Hollywood by entering the Samsung 15-Seconds of Fame Sweepstakes. Customers can visit their local Sprint Store and Best Buy to record their own personal video to enter. Contest details and additional means of entry can be found at www.videomailsweeps.com.

The Sprint PCS Vision Video Phone VM-A680 by Samsung features a movie light, audio and brightness controls, zoom, and personalization options, giving users creative control to produce 15-second videos that can be sent quickly and easily to friends and family. The phone's ultra-compact clamshell design, with its sleek titanium exterior and ergonomics, further underscores Samsung's leadership in developing devices that consumers truly desire.

""The VM-A680 is a testament to Samsung's unwavering"" dedication to provide consumers with superior imaging and multimedia phones,"" said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president of Samsung's wireless terminals division. ""As consumers come to expect more out of their wireless phones, we're confident the VM-A680 will give them the most vibrant way to capture and share life experiences with family and friends.""
