SAMSUNG Debuts Breakthrough DVD/Receiver Home Theater Systems

Las Vegas, NV - Samsung Electronics America, Inc., an established innovator in the Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) market, raises the convergence bar again with a host of new five-disc DVD-receiver systems, some of which are the world's first to feature a USB Plug and Play port so users can listen to music from their MP3/WMA devices. Samsung's exciting new DVD HTiB line will be on display at CES 2005 in the Samsung booth #11024 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center at CES from January 6th - 9th.

Samsung's new 5-disc HTiB all incorporate an integrated DVD player/Receiver, a full set of high-quality surround sound speakers and a superb sub-woofer to transform any living room into a fully functioning digital entertainment center. Audiophiles will appreciate the wide center channel speaker that enhances dialogue prominence during movies so words don't compete against background sound effects and music.

The five-disc progressive-scan DVD players support multimedia files like DivX and MP3, as well as DVD Audio, WMA-Disc, CD-R/RW and DVD-R/RW. They also display JPEG images so viewers can watch picture slide shows burned from digital cameras in the comfort of their living rooms instead of huddling around a small computer monitor. Remote control technology rounds out the HTiB package. The AnyNet Interface lets users control other Samsung home theater equipment with one touch operation for the easiest viewing experience around.

"Samsung's newest generation of HTIB products unite home theater and PC technology so users can appreciate all their digital entertainment on the best sound system in the house," said Bill Hadam, Senior Manager, Digital Audio, Samsung Electronics America. "With the comprehensive playback options we've packed in to these DVD models, the Home Theater in a Box bar has been raised significantly."

HT-P38 and HTWP38

Hailed as the world's first integrated 5-Disc DVD Changer/Receiver with a USB Plug & Play port, the HT-P38 sets the standard for the next generation of home theater playback equipment. Plug in any MP3/WMA flash memory or HDD device and enjoy all the music stored on your digital audio device through 800 watts of power.

People who prefer more convenience should consider the HT-WP38. The upgraded unit employs wireless Bluetooth technology so installation is easy. Simply plug in the receiver/amplifier tower in the back of the room and place the speakers where they sound best without worrying about running long lengths of speaker wire through the room's interior from the front of the room to the rear.

The HT-P38 will be available in April 2005 with an MAP of $249. The HT-WP38 will be available in April 2005 with an MAP of $349.

The HT-P40 fills rooms big and small with a 5.1 channel digital amplifier boasting 800 watts (134W x 5 +130W x 1) of powerful sound. Like all of the 2005 HTiB offerings, the HT-P40 offers AM/FM digital tuner with 30 station presets, and can decode Dolby Digital®, DTS®, and Dolby Pro Logic® signals.

Samsung also offers the HT-HP40, which features High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input and output to keep all parts of the digital signal flowing seamlessly through a single cable. HDTV owners will appr
