SAMSUNG Invites Students From Torino Schools To OR@S Pavilion In Piazza Solferino For Daily Olympic-Themed Educational Program

Torino, February 15, 2006 – Among the daily events organized by Samsung at its OR@S pavilion in Piazza Solferino, is the School Learning Zone, a special program dedicated to students of the city of Torino.

Each weekday morning from now through February 24th, Samsung will host two elementary classes from local schools for an entertaining and informative lesson about the Olympic Games. Students will be introduced to the history and significance of the Games, from ancient Greece to modern day times, through interactive games and activities like making paper Olympic Torches, question-and-answer trivia games and skits performed by the presenters.

Alberto Tomba, Samsung’s global athlete ambassador, is joining  some of the lessons, to share his experiences and spend time with the children. “It has been great to see how excited the kids are about the Olympic Games. They love to hear my stories and they ask really funny questions,” Tomba said.

Patrizia Gobbo, teacher from the Scuola Elementare XXV Aprile di Torino said: “The children are so excited to get the chance to be part of the Games, which is such an important and historic event for our city.  We thank Samsung for organizing this program”.

Samsung organized the program in order to give young students a chance to share Olympic spirit in Torino. The School Learning Zone will be held each weekday from 10a.m. till 11:30a.m. in the Spectator Center and Athlete Center of OR@S until February 24th.
