SAMSUNG Announces Windows Vista Premium Certification On New Lcd Displays

LAS VEGAS - January 8, 2007 - Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, today announced that its new series of 19, 20 and 22-inch widescreen monitors meet the technical standards to qualify for Microsoft's Windows Vista Premium certification. In early 2007, Microsoft will unveil its new Windows Vista software package, which was designed to drive workplace efficiency, increase security and create superior image quality for personal and professional users. In order to deliver optimal performance, Microsoft has set forth a set of rigorous standards to determine which products are best equipped to support the Windows Vista operating system.

In preparation for the launch of Microsoft Vista, Samsung created a task-force that worked for a year to ensure that Samsung monitors' would meet Microsoft's high-quality standards.

"Samsung has worked closely with Microsoft to ensure that all of our widescreen monitors to be released in 2007 comply with the standards for Windows Vista premium certification" said Ha Yoon-ho, senior vice president, visual display division, Samsung Electronics Company. "By achieving premium certification status, Samsung has solidified our place as a leader in this market segment and has paved the way for a lasting global partnership with Microsoft."

All three of the new SyncMaster monitors feature a lightning-fast 2ms (GTG) response time and a dynamic 3000:1 contrast ratio, providing for vivid, true-to-life image quality. The three widescreen monitors are further equipped with dual inputs (DVI-D & Analog) and they are HDCP capable for real-time TV or DVD viewing.

For added elegance and style, the SyncMaster models come complete with a shiny black bezel packaged in high-gloss, piano-black casings. To create a comfortable, highly-customizable user experience, the series of monitors features a detachable stand that allows for wall or arm mounting. Furthermore, all three monitors incorporate ergonomic capabilities for enhanced comfort and flexibility.
