SAMSUNG Showcases the Latest in Mobile TV Handset

LAS VEGAS, January 8, 2007 - Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd., has been a frontrunner in the mobile TV revolution with an extensive portfolio of handsets across all mobile broadcasting platforms - Satellite DMB (S-DMB), Terrestrial DMB (T-DMB), Media FLO, and DVB-H.

The SCH-U620 is Samsung's latest mobile TV handset in the US to bring high-profile video and audio capabilities in a perfect blend of compact and sleek design. The SCH-U620 is expected to be available in early 2007 from Verizon Wireless and features real time streaming and clip casting, a 2-inch QVGA 240 x 320 pixel LCD screen, stereo Bluetooth® support for enhanced audio, a dedicated V CAST ™ Mobile TV key on the side of the device for easy application launch and a retractable V CAST ™ Mobile TV antenna.

Samsung developed the first S-DMB chipset in 2004 and produced the world's first S-DMB mobile, SCH-B100, to the Korean market. Since then, Samsung has launched 28 S-DMB and 20 T-DMB mobile TV handsets to date in Korea. The mobile TV market has continually grown globally with the unveiling and commercialization of Europe's first DVB-H model, SGH-P910, and also the Europe's first T-DMB handset, SGH-P900, in 2006.

"Our distinctive line-up of mobile TV handsets on display at CES represents Samsung's commitment in delivering high-quality personal multimedia handsets desired by today's mobile consumer. The SCH-U620 and our future lineup of mobile TV handsets will allow our consumers to fully enjoy the freedom of mobility and broadcasting," said Kitae Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Telecommunications Network Business. "Samsung will continue our efforts in designing mobiles that will give our consumers the ultimate multimedia mobile experience."
