SAMSUNG Opens Largest Athlete and Public Entertainment Venue, Olympic Rendezvous @ SAMSUNG, for Sydney 2000 Olympic Games

Worldwide Olympic Partner Samsung Electronics unveiled today the centerpiece of its US$200 million global marketing campaign, the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung.

The 4,000 square-meter Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung will be a safe and secure haven for athletes participating in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games where they can spend quality time with families and friends.

Visitors to Sydney Olympic Park will also be able to enjoy the public areas of Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung, which will feature live daily entertainment (bands and cultural performances); a technology showcase displaying Samsung# futuristic mobile phones and many opportunities to see athletes on stage for special presentations and appearances.

According to Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics Mr. Jong-Yong Yun: #e want Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung to be a meeting place for the world to gather and celebrate what is a unique experience #the Olympic Games. We are proud to be able to bring people together for this celebration.#
At night the venue will be transformed into a spectacle of sight and sound. The fabric sails that surround the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung will be lit to dramatic effect, the entire pavilion looking like an animated flame. Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung will be an impressive landmark on the Sydney Olympic skyline.

Opening to the public on 15 September and running for the duration of the Games, most areas of the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung will operate between 7.30am and 11.30pm and will host some 600,000 visitors.

Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung is located on the corner of Sarah Durack Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, only minutes from the main stadium and close to Olympic Park station.
