SEOUL, Korea ?November 8, 2000 ?Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled today three next-generation PC products that will drive its come back to the international PC market.

Of these PCs, the #ens Q?is the first notebook PC developed by a Korean company that contains Bluetooth wireless communications technology. With a thickness of 19.8mm and weighing 1.35 kg, it is one of the lightest and slimmest notebook PCs to be developed thus far.

The Sens Q is a sub-notebook PC that can be carried around easily. It also comes with a docking station so the user can use the product much like a desktop PC at home or in the office. In addition, Samsung# new notebook PC features a built-in MP3-player and voice recorder, as well as an attachable high-resolution digital PC camera.

The M1500 is a desktop PC that combines the PC, LCD monitor and speakers in one unit. This #ll-in-one?desktop PC uses only 20 percent of the desk space a conventional computer needs.

The M6320 #ome Network PC?allows the user to connect two or more PCs via telephone cable creating a computer network at home.
Samsung Electronics developed these products in order to respond to the world demand for slimmer and better networked computers. In particular, Samsung invested 5 billion won in order to develop the Sens Q. The project began on November 1999 and was concluded in November of this year.

According to IDC, the ultra-portable notebook PC market is expected to grow to 5 million units in 2003, growing at an annual rate of 16 to 17 percent. Samsung# goal is to export 1.3 million units by 2003.

In order to accomplish this goal, Samsung will expand its marketing efforts from the Korean market to overseas markets, where the demand for these products is even greater. Samsung will launch the Sens Q in the European market next year under the Samsung brand. Plans are underway to export the Sens Q to the US, as well.

Daeje Chin, President and CEO of the Digital Media System Business of Samsung Electronics stated, #hrough the launch of these new products, Samsung Electronics expects to not only strengthen its number 1 position in the Korean PC market but also become a major player in overseas PC markets. ?
