SAMSUNG Unveils Affordable and Compact ML-4500 Laser Printer

(Hanover, March 22-28 2001) Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. introduced the ML-4500 Laser Printer at CeBIT 2001 (held March 22 - 28). The ML-4500 offers home and small businesses high-quality laser printing at a price point comparable to that of an inkjet printer

The ML-4500 is a tremendous value and is an excellent choice for any business that is looking to upgrade to a laser printer. It can also be used as an economical complement to a color inkjet providing dedicated laser quality output for all business correspondence and other important black-and-white documents.

The ML-4500 delivers crisp and sharp output with a real resolution of 600 dpi and does it at a super-fast eight pages-per-minute. The included micro toner produces sharper text and graphics than ordinary toner. There is also a 35 MHz high performance RISC Processor and a 2MB memory capacity.

The ML-4500's innovative features include the "N-up printing mode," which prints up to 16 pages of text on a single sheet of paper, generating an index sheet that can serve as a convenient map for lengthy documents. The ML-4500's user-friendly controls make it simple to select printer functions, eliminating the need to scroll through menus. At the touch of a button, you can reprint the last printout page, even if the PC power has been turned off. There is also a cancel button that facilitates print job termination.

Paper jams won't slow you down when using the ML-4500, thanks to Samsung's paper jam free technology. The printer is designed to easily accept a wide variety of paper stocks and sizes and has an extra sheet feeder for envelopes, labels, card stock or transparencies. There is also a multi-purpose input tray with a 150-sheet capacity.

The ML-4500 is simple to install and is compatible with Windows 95/98/2000/ME/NT4.0 or later and Red HatO Linux Version 6.0 or later. It is the smallest laser printer in its class and requires very little desktop space. The toner and OPC imager are conveniently combined into a one-piece unit.

Samsung will launch the SM-316 worldwide in the third quarter of 2001.
