SDS Plaza Becomes Largest B2B Mega-Site in Korea

Samsung SDS announced on Jan. 26 that it is reorganizing and expanding its IT portal site, www.sdsplaza.com, into the company's flagship B2B business and fortifying its e-commerce in response to the increasing complexity of the modern business environment..

Samsung SDS will integrate its 12 sites into one specialized site to provide one-stop e-business services that covers the full range of the IT business, including e-commerce, consulting, information referral, security, and IT education. As such, SDS Plaza will transform into a B2B specific mega-site for corporate clients, mostly providing systems integration services to corporations.

B2B services by Samsung SDS are divided into the 5 following areas:
▲E-commerce of various hardware and software such as computer peripherals (www.com25.com), computer consumables (www.consuMall.com), software (www.toBsoft.com), information equipment rentals (www.rental-plaza.com), and maintenance services (www.e-Supportplaza.com).
▲Consulting services such as IT project management (www.PMPlaza.com), on-line consulting (www.bizspectrum.com), and health check-ups for business information systems (www.ISHealthCheck.com).
▲Information service that provides the highest quality information in the IT industry (www.eTechValley.com)
▲Registration authority services that are essential in e-commerce (www.racenter.co.kr)
▲Remote educational services for the IT industry (www.e-campus.co.kr).

The 12 B2B sites are classified according to the needs of various e-businesses to make it easier for corporations to utilize Samsung SDS's vast accumulation of business experience and knowledge in SDS Plaza.

Furthermore, the entire purchasing, bidding and settlement processes are now on-line with the establishment of the purchase settlement system, automated bidding system, as well as the client and budget management programs. In addition, the environment for conducting e-commerce has become even more convenient and efficient with Internet messengers and video conferencing.

President Jong-Keun Park of SDS Plaza said, "To provide the best possible products and services, we have formed strategic partnerships with more than 15 companies including Korea Certificate Authority, Korea Rental, Ahnlab and ZDnet, and we adopted a site certification system to ensure the highest quality." He added that broadening the B2B business environment is expected to include the opening of professional community clubs for individual members, which would offer a variety of IT community services such as programming and Internet operating systems. Furthermore, officials commented that Samsung SDS can expect to expand its market to small-and-medium enterprises as well as large corporations to post revenues of 70 billion Won with 2 billion Won coming from overseas.
