- Nine new models, ranging from 680-730 liters, now feature inverter technology.- Power consumption is reduced 12% and operation is far quieter than competing products.
SEOUL, Korea - March 4, 2003 - Samsung Electronics initially applied its advanced inverter technology, which reduces power consumption and noise, to its 769-liter refrigerator--the largest model in the company’s high-end lineup. Now however, the company is expanding this feature to nine new models, ranging from 680 to 730 liters.
These new refrigerators operate at a quiet 21 decibels (R&D center sound chambers are just 19 decibels) and consume only 0.052 KWh per liter monthly, 12% less than competing models of the same size. Additionally, centrifugal turbo fans improve cooling efficiency in the refrigerator unit by 14% and the freezer unit by 15%.
The new products are available in either striped silver or white oak. An LED panel is installed on the outside to facilitate monitoring of operational status.
