Logical Choice Technologies to offer Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Series as first Android tablets as part of its broad education product portfolio
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., June 4th, 2012 – Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, today announced a national strategic partnership with Logical Choice Technologies to provide Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 Series tablets to their 50-state network of customers in the U.S. education marketplace. This partnership will see the Galaxy Tab® 2 Series become the first Android-powered tablets in the Logical Choice Technologies product portfolio, bundled together with innovative educational products and software to provide a powerful teaching platform.
“Samsung is committed to the continued evolution of technology in the classroom. Our ultimate vision is that both teachers and students embrace technology as an integral part of the educational experience, but as a truly transformative agent to traditional learning,” said Todd Bouman, vice president of marketing at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “Core to this is our ability to provide teachers and students with the best devices for accessing the educational content they need. The Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 Series tablets add new levels of engagement, connectivity as well as productivity and through our partnership with Logical Choice Technologies, we hope to be able to integrate them into classrooms across the country.”
“So many of the schools we work with are moving to e-textbooks and one-to-one wireless devices for every student,” said Cynthia Kaye, Founder and CEO of Logical Choice Technologies. “With today’s tight budgets, we are finding that many schools are looking for tablets with more affordable price points, expandability, Adobe® Flash support and an open O/S that will allow them to develop their own educational apps. Those needs bring schools and Logical Choice directly to an Android-based solution. And, when it comes to Android, the Samsung brand is the premiere choice.”
The Galaxy Tab® 2 Series, available in both 10.1” and 7.0” screen sizes, are powerful dual-core tablets running the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich. The devices feature an integrated IR blaster for universal remote capabilities, as well as an easily accessible memory card slot for convenient loading of multimedia files in a range of supported file formats. Users can choose from more than 450,000 apps and access additional digital content from Google Play or Samsung Media Hub, and surf millions of web pages with Adobe® Flash® support.
“We are honored that Samsung has chosen to name Logical Choice as a national Strategic Partner for education,” continued Kaye. “We see a bright future for both the Android platform and Samsung in the school market and with thousands of dedicated educational apps already available on Google Play, this is clearly a category that is set for enormous growth.”
