Cooling Off A Region
EAST VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL • Washington
East Valley High School’s project aims to challenge students to reduce electrical energy consumption in an average household over the course of a summer. They will be using science, technology, engineering, and math skills to design, build, and test an easy to use, energy efficient cooling system that will utilize the irrigation water readily available in the region.
East Valley High School is located in Yakima, Washington. The school has about 830 students from grades 9-12. The school is located in an agricultural community east of Yakima and also serves students from the city of Moxee, Washington. The local farms are world renowned for their production of hops and apples.
