The SCH-I100 (Gem) is qualified as meeting Bluetooth 2.1 core specifications. These specifications follow a Simple Secure Pairing (SSP) model, allowing for quick and secure pairing. In order to pair the SCH-I100 (Gem) with another device, such as a headset, follow the steps below:
Note: The Bluetooth radio must be turned on inorder to scan for
nearby device.
If the
icon is seen in the status bar, skip step 6.
Note: For Bluetooth headsets that do not have a dedicated power button, the most common way to place it in discover mode is by pressing and holding the "Action/Hold" button while in a power off state. The LED on the device may either turn solid blue or alternate colors to shows it is discoverable.
Note: With Bluetooth 2.1, it should not be necessary to input a four digit passkey to complete the pairing process. By following SSP, the six digit passkey exchange is done in the background since security is based upon proximity by having both devices in physical possession.
If you are prompted to enter a password for a headset, try 0000 or 1234.
Note: The device should show connected
