Voice recognition recognizes the digits one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and zero or oh. It does not recognize numbers such as “one eight hundred” for “1-800.” Instead, say “one-eight zero- zero.”
How Do I Use Voice Dialing On My SGH-T929 (Memoir) Phone When Using A Bluetooth Headset?
The SGH-T929 (Memoir) handset is preloaded with Nuance® advanced speech recognition software, VoiceSignal Voice Recognition, that can be used to activate a wide-variety of functions on the phone. VoiceSignal Voice Recognition automatically voice activates all numbers in the phonebook for voice dialing or searching, and no prerecording or training is required. Simply say one of the predesignated commands displayed on the screen, in a normal tone of voice, to dial numbers, look up contact information, and open applications using your voice.
To initiate a VoiceSignal Voice Recognition session, using a Bluetooth headset, follow the steps below:
- Press and hold down the Bluetooth device's button until the following “Say a Command” menu appears:
- Call (Name or #)
- Send Text (Name or #)
- Lookup (Name)
- Go To (Menu)
- Check (Item)
When it recognizes one of these commands, the SGH-T929 (Memoir) handset launches the associated application. If the phone does not hear a command within approximately eight seconds, it deactivates voice recognition without taking any action.
Note: If a name has only a single number, or if you know the name but are not sure which number to call, say “Call” followed by the name only. For example, say “Call John.” If the name is recognized and there is only one number for the name, Voice Command immediately places the call. If there are multiple numbers stored for the contact, the handset prompts you with “Which Location?” and displays a list of options. Select an option by simply speaking it into the microphone or pressing on the desired location displayed.
