A lot of water in the air conditioning pan is a possible indication of a dirty filter, unusually high humidity, or a service issue.
The Air Conditioner Is Making A Rattling Noise, Is This Normal?
Most reported rattling sounds are normal. Typically the sound heard is caused by the fan blades hitting the water in the air conditioning pan. The fan blades pick up the water and splash it onto the compressor. This process keeps the compressor cool and improves the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner. To check if the sound being heard is normal, run the air conditioner using the fan only mode. Make sure that the air conditioner is/was installed properly and that the sound is not caused by the unit being loose or by something rubbing against the unit. • If the sound is not present, then the noise is a normal operational sound. • If the sound is still present, then the noise is a possible indication of a service issue.
