Voice command recognizes the digits one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and zero or oh. The phone does not recognize numbers such as “one eight hundred” for “1-800.” Instead, say “one-eight zero- zero.”
How Do I Use Voice Dialing On My SGH-a697 Phone When Using A Bluetooth Headset?
Nuance VSuite 3.2 is advanced speech recognition software that can be used to activate a wide-variety of functions on the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset. Voice Recognition software automatically voice activates all phonebook contacts for voice dialing and searching, no pre-recording or training needed. Speak contact names or phone numbers naturally to call, and use voice commands to launch applications.
If the handset does not hear a command within approximately eight seconds, it deactivates voice recognition without taking any action.
To initiate a voice dial session, with a Bluetooth headset, follow the steps below:
- Press and hold down the Bluetooth device's button until the following “Say a Command” menu appears:
- Call (Name or #)
- Send Message (Name or #)
- Lookup (Name)
- Go To (Menu)
- Check (Item)
- Speak one of the command options above to initiate a session
When it recognizes one of these commands, the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset launches the associated application.
Note: If a name has only a single number, or if you know the name but are not sure which number to call, say “Call” followed by the name only. For example, say “Call John.” If the name is recognized and there is only one number for the name, voice dial immediately places the call. If there are multiple numbers stored for the contact, the phone prompts you with “Which Number?” and displays a list of options. Select the number by speaking it into the handset's microphone.
