Can I Lock my Samsung r390?

You can set the locking behavior of your phone. When the device is locked, you must enter the Lock Code to use it, except when dialing emergency numbers.

To access the Security submenu, you are prompted to enter your device's four-digit lock code. By default, your lock code is set to the last four digits of your mobile number.

  • Set A Device Lock

In Lock mode, you can answer calls, but you must unlock the phone to place calls (except to 911).

From the standby screen, press Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Security > Phone Lock Setting and select from the following options. Press SET to confirm selection.

      • Unlocked: Your device will not be locked.
      • On Power Up: Your device will request that you enter your Lock Code when turning it on.

To have your device lock after a certain period of inactivity, press Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Security > Auto Device Lock. Select from the following: Off, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 mins. and press SET to confirm your selection.

You can also use Lock Phone Now to manually lock your device and to prevent access until you enter your four-digit lock code. This is a one-time lock — your device returns to its Phone Lock Setting after you unlock it.

  • Keypad Lock

To quickly lock your keypad, press and hold the Sym/Lock Key. To unlock your keypad, press Unlock > Space key.

This feature does not require a password and can be set to auto-lock after the backlight goes off by enabling the option in Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Auto Key Lock > On.
