How do I take screenshots on my Samsung Note II?

Capture screenshots by pressing the Home key and Power/Lock key simultaneously.

Using the S Pen™

  1. Press and hold the S Pen icon.

  2. Press and hold the S Pen anywhere on the screen.

  3. The screenshot will open automatically, allowing you to crop, share, or add a quick note to the image.

Using Keys

You can capture screenshots by pressing the Home key and the Power/Lock key simultaneously.

The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in Gallery.

     

Using Motion Gesture

Your mobile device supports a "palm swipe to capture screenshot" gesture. To access the feature, from the Home screen, touch Menu > Settings > My device > Motion. Touch the slider off to turn Motion on. Mark the Palm swipe to capture checkbox. You can now capture a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.

The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in Gallery.

View a Screenshot

  1. To open a screenshot immediately after you capture it, open the Notification Panel by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom, and touch Screenshot captured. Quickly double-touch Gallery to view your screenshot. Or, to view your screenshots at any time, from the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery > Screenshots.

  2. Touch the desired screenshot.

  3. When viewing the screenshot, the following icons are available at the top of the screen:

    • Change player : View the screenshot on a nearby compatible DLNA enabled device.

    • Share via : Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned on.

    • Delete : Delete the screenshot.

    • Camera : Open the Camera application.

4. Touch Menu for the following additional options:

  • Edit: Edit the screenshot.

  • Favorite: Add the screenshot to your Favorites album.

  • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

  • Photo Frame: Write on the border around the screenshot.

  • Write on image: Make a note on the "back" of the screenshot.

  • Copy to clipboard: Copy the screenshot to the clipboard so it can be pasted into other applications.

  • Print: Print the screenshot to an available printer using a wireless network, Wi-Fi Direct, or a USB cable.

  • Rename: Rename the screenshot.

  • Buddy photo share: Share the screenshot with anyone tagged in it.

  • Crop: Crop unwanted areas out of the screenshot.

  • Set as: Set the screenshot as a Home and lock screens wallpaper, Home screen wallpaper, Lock screen wallpaper, Contact photo, or Google+ Photos Wallpaper.  

  • Details: View information about the screenshot, such as resolution and file type.

  • Settings: View and edit Gallery settings. View accounts available for syncing with the Gallery, and select when syncing should occur. Turn on face and buddy tagging and access Sound & shot settings.

You can delete, edit, and share screenshots from the Notification Panel. Touch Screenshot captured with two fingers slightly apart, and swipe down to expand and display all options.
