Can I Repartition The Hard Drive After The Initial Setup?

  • Can I Repartition the Hard Drive After the Initial Setup?

Before performing this procedure, please be aware that you will lose all data that is on the D: drive, as well as the Initial Status Backup of Samsung Recovery Solution. You will be unable to restore the computer to it?s original settings, and will have to use user created backups to restore the system if you ever need to.

When you first power on the computer and complete the initial setup, you are given the option to resize the partitions on the hard drive. By default, the hard drive is split into two drive letters of about equal size as well as a third hidden partition that is used by Samsung Recovery Solution.

If you have missed this opportunity to resize the drives, or if you wish to resize the drives again, you will need to:

      1. (Netbooks) Connect an external DVD drive to your PC.
      2. Create a Complete Backup Onto DVD's.
      3. Perform A Complete Restore And Repartition The Hard Disk Drive.

Note: You may be able to use 3rd party partitioning software to repartition the drive, however it may conflict with the hidden partition of Samsung Recovery Solution. Samsung is unable to support the use of 3rd party partitioning software to repartition the hard drive.
