Wash whites in your Samsung washing machine
Nothing stains more easily than white clothing. Whether it's a drop of barbecue sauce, a grass stain from sports, or that random red sock that got mixed into the load, you may wonder if your whites will ever be white again. Fortunately, removing stains like these and brightening faded whites is as easy as adding a whitener to your load.
Caution: Whiteners can leave permanent stains on your non-white clothing. After running a cycle with whitener, run an empty cycle to help flush out any excess whitener.
Wash white socks, sheets, and towels
It's recommended to wash white items in hot water, but make sure to always check the care labels first.
Gather all your white socks, sheets, and towels that can stand hot water. Always check the labels to be sure. These items tend to be the dirtiest and most heavily-used whites you have, so it is important to use hot water.
Select the Whites cycle, and select the hot temperature setting. If your model does not have the Whites cycle, use the Normal cycle. Then, add your favorite stain-removing detergent to the detergent drawer.
Add any thin liquid whitener (like liquid bleach) to the bleach compartment. Please see the "Where to find the bleach compartment" section in this article if you are unsure where the bleach compartment is located. Any solid whitener (like baking soda) should be added to the tub. Possible whiteners include bleach, baking soda, vinegar (especially white vinegar), borax, lemon juice, and hydrogen peroxide.
Note: Never put chlorine bleach in the detergent compartment of the detergent drawer. Use the bleach compartment of the detergent drawer (or the separate bleach compartment on top load models).Add your towels, socks, and sheets, and then start the cycle.
You can dry all of these items on high heat, but remember to dry your sheets separately so they don't get covered in lint from the towels.
Wash white delicates
Delicate items can be washed in your washing machine as well, but be sure to select the Delicate or Hand Wash cycle first.
Gather all your delicate white items like sheer shirts, blouses, and undergarments, and review the care tags to make sure they are washable. Most white delicates are machine washable in cold water.
Select the Delicates or Hand Wash cycle, and select the cold temperature setting. Then, add your favorite stain-removing detergent to the detergent drawer.
Add any thin liquid whitener (like liquid bleach) to the bleach compartment. Once your delicates are done, you should hang them to dry or put them in the dryer on very low heat. You can also use the delicates dryer on FlexDry dryer models.
Wash white t-shirts, polos, shorts, blouses, etc.

When it comes time to dry, you can dry anything made of cotton on High and synthetic items on Medium or Low heat. You can use the mixed load bell on your Samsung dryer to alert to you, so you can take the synthetic items out as soon as they are dry.
Where to find the bleach compartment
You may be wondering where the bleach compartment is located on your particular washing machine. The answer is, it depends on what kind of washer you have. Check out the information below to find out more:
Top load models: Open the lid of the washing machine. The bleach compartment is located on the front left side.
Front load models: Open the detergent compartment drawer on the front left of the washing machine. The bleach compartment is clearly labeled as one of the sections of the drawer.
FlexWash models: On the upper washer, open the top door. The bleach compartment is located on the top left. On the lower washer, open the front cover. The bleach compartment is located in between the main detergent compartment (on the left side) and the softener compartment (on the right side).
Note: Make sure to remove the compartment cap on both washers before adding bleach.
How much bleach to use in a load
The amount of bleach you need to use really depends on the clothing you are washing. Some garments can handle bleach while others can’t. Before using any bleach, check the care tag(s) on the clothing to make sure bleach is safe to use.
The bleach packaging should specify how much bleach to use. When you’ve figured out the appropriate amount, measure it and pour liquid bleach into the designated bleach dispenser. If you are putting bleach into a bleach compartment (like in a detergent drawer), don't go over the max line, or it will start going into the drum immediately. Most models of top load washers just have a hole to pour bleach into, and the bleach will disappear out of sight. Don't worry though, the washer won't add the bleach to the tub until the right time in the cycle.
Please be aware that the bleach compartment is ONLY for liquid bleach. If you’re using powdered bleach, it goes directly in the tub with clothes, but we recommend using liquid bleach. Also, remember to periodically clean the washer. Leaving bleach in the washer can cause rust over time.
