How to Log in to SyncThru Web Service

SyncThru Web Service is a web-based software built into all network-connected Samsung Printers. SyncThru Web Service is secured with a User ID/Password. The default User ID/Password is "admin/sec00000", but it can be changed from the default.

  • To log into SyncThru Web Service, follow the steps below:

Note: Your printer must be powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer to open SyncThru Web Service.

    1. Open the internet browser, such as Chrome or Internet Explorer, on your computer. Click in the address bar (not the search bar) at the top of the browser. Type your printer's IP address into the address bar, and then press the "Enter" key on the keyboard. The SyncThru Web Service window will open.

If you do not know your printer's IP address, click on the tab "How to find your printer's IP address" at the bottom of this article for instructions.

    2. Click on "Login" at the top right of the window.

    3. Enter "admin" into the ID space, and "sec00000" into the Password space. Click "LOGIN."

    4. You now have the option to change the ID and Password, if you wish. You are not required to change them. Click "Yes" to change, and "No" to leave them the same.

Important: If you decide to change the password, it is limited to 18 characters. Creating a password 19 characters or longer would cause SyncThru Web Service to log out, and the printer network settings would have to be reset in order to log in again.

    5. More tabs show at the top and different options are now editable. SyncThru Web Service gives you options for viewing printer information, changing settings, and performing maintenance on your printer.

If you have difficulty signing in to SyncThru Web Service, click on the "Troubleshooting" tab below.

  • Troubleshooting:
    • If the SyncThru Web Service page does not open, make sure that your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If necessary, restart both the printer and computer and reconnect them to your Wi-Fi network.
    • If you cannot open SyncThru Web Service through your web browser, try opening it by going to the Device Settings tab of the Easy Printer Manager application. If you would like instructions how to install Easy Printer Manager, click here.
    • If the login fails, make sure that you entered the default login and password in lower case (verify that the Caps Lock key is off). If the password or ID were changed, make sure you are using the updated ID and password you created.
    • If the User ID/Password have been changed and you don't know what they are, you can reset the network settings, which will to set the ID/Password back to the default "admin/sec00000." • How to find your printer's IP address:

On most printers with an LCD display, you can print a Network Configuration Report by following the steps below (if your printer is different, look at the note at the bottom of this section):

    1. Press the menu button  on the printer panel.
    2. Using the arrows, navigate to "System Setup," then press the OK button.
    3. Press the right arrow until "Report" appears, then press the OK button.
    4. Press the right arrow until "Network Conf." appears, then press the OK button.
    5. The display will show "Print? Yes." Press the OK button, and the report will print.

Note: The Network Configuration Report that prints will have all the information about your printer, including a number that is the IP Address. There are three kinds of IP addresses to watch for:

    • A standard IP address will look something similar to 10.0.1.176 (the IP address for each printer is a little different).  This number will be what you enter in the address bar of your browser to open up SyncThru Web Service.
    • If an IP address of 192.0.0.192 shows, this is what a brand new printer will display before it has been connected to a network, and this indicates that the printer needs to be connected to Wi-Fi for the first time. After connecting it to Wi-Fi, then print the Network Configuration Report again, and it will show a new IP address.
    • An IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx indicates no available networks or a network problem. This may be because your printer tried to connect to a network but failed, or because it lost connection to the network. This is not a problem with the printer, but a problem with the connection. Try to connect the printer to the Wi-Fi network again, and then troubleshoot the Wi-Fi network itself.

Note: If your printer differs from these instructions, click here for steps how to open and search a printer manual. You can search the manual for "network configuration report" to find where your printer manual that shows how to print this report.
