How Do I Use Voice Dialing On My SGH-I617 When Using A Bluetooth Headset?
The answer to this question is dependent on whether or not the SGH-I617 handset in question has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1.
If the Black Jack II has not yet been updated, then no, while the it does feature a voice recorder, the handset does not have any configurable options available for voice dialing using a Bluetooth headset.
However, if the SGH-I617 handset has been updated to the new Windows Mobile 6.1 Operating System, now supports voice dialing using a Bluetooth headset.
Microsoft® Voice Command is advanced speech recognition software that can be used to activate a wide-variety of functions on the SGH-I617 handset. Voice Command software automatically voice activates all contacts for voice dialing and searching, no pre-recording or training needed. Simply speak contact names or phone numbers to dial, and use voice commands to launch applications.
Note: Voice Command recognizes the digits one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and zero or oh. It does not recognize numbers such as “one eight hundred” for “1-800.” Instead, say “one-eight zero- zero.”
To initiate a Voice Command session, with a Bluetooth headset, follow the steps below:
2. After the beep, speak (in a natural voice) any of the following Voice Commands:
Note: If a name has only a single number, or if you know the name but are not sure which number to call, say “Call” followed by the name only. For example, say “Call John.” If the name is recognized and there is only one number for the name, Voice Command immediately places the call. If there are multiple numbers stored for the contact, the phone prompts you with "Call John" then speaks and displays a list of options. You can select an option by saying it or by using your keypad.
Tip: You can also speak any of the following Voice Commands listed under the categories below:
TheVoice Command will be repeated then you will be asked to verify it. Say “Yes” to call the person or number. Say “No” to cancel.
When Voice Command recognizes one of these commands, the SGH-I617 handset launches the associated application. If the phone does not hear a command within approximately eight seconds, it deactivates voice recognition without taking any action.
