I Am Having Problems Syncing My I330, Can You Help Me?
Remove the Palm desktop software. If you have
previous information that they want to back up, locate the user name folder
(i.e.: C:/Programfiles/Palmusername) and copy it to the desktop. Locate
C:/Programfiles/Palm and delete the folder. (i.e.: Palm VII applications will
not work with the I330.)
Disconnect the cradle from the PC, and insert the
disk that came with the phone. Click on Install USB drivers and select Remove.
Restart the PC
Press Ctrl, Alt, Del,
and close all running programs except Explorer and Systray.
Install the USB
driver and restart the PC. After the computer has restarted, connect the cradle
to the PC. Click on Start, Settings, go to your Control Panel, click on System,
and go to your Device Manager. If the cradle is correctly installed, you will
see and SAMSUNG USB-to-Serial Comm device under your Port devices. Make note of
the COM port that the device was installed on. If you see a USB Device or
Unknown Device, remove it and repeat steps 2, 3, and 4.
Install Palm Desktop
software from the CD that is supplied with the phone. Do not install Pocket
Mirror. After you have installed the Palm Desktop software, double click on the
Hotsync icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen (red and blue
arrows). Make sure that you have Local Serial and USB checked.
on the Hotsync icon, click on Setup, Local, and select the COM port that the
device was on.
WARNING: PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON
THE PHONE. Do a hard reset on the phone (Hold both buttons on the right side of
the phone, insert the reset pin into the back of the phone, release the pin,
release the contrast button, and select "YES" to erase all data.)
HotSync. Your password is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
have old palm information, open the folder on the desktop (i.e.: the folder
that was copied in step one), click Edit, Select All, click Edit, and Copy.
Double click on the My Computer icon, your C drive, Program Files, and the Palm
Double click on your user folder, click Edit, Paste, and select Yes
Once you have followed steps 8-10 your old user information should
now be seen when you open the Palm Desktop software.
