How Do I Assign A Ringtone To A Contact On My SGH-e715?
Assigning ringtones can be done to "groups" but not to specific individuals. We need to edit the phonebook entries to assign a group to the entries and make certain the phone numbers are properly configured as well. For the caller ID to work properly, it must be configured as follows:
The Caller ID function works in conjunction with the phone book. The Caller ID reads the phone numbers in 10 digit format only, (XXX-XXX-XXXX). If you have a "1" in front of the area code (1-XXX-XXX-XXXX), the Caller ID will not function properly. Also, if you do not have an area code at all (XXX-XXXX), it will also cause Caller ID function to work improperly. If you do have a 1 in front of the area code, simply remove it as it is not necessary for long distance with your wireless carrier.
Please Note: If the cellular provider "cloned" the phonebook utilizing a special program from one phone over to another, this can cause the Caller ID to fail. If this is the case, it would require further assistance to remedy this.
