What Are USB Settings And How Do I Use Them On My Qwest SPH-M520?
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a type of plug-in connection that is used to connect devices, including some handsets, to desktop or laptop PC's. In a handset, USB is useful for quickly transferring files to and from phones, or for synchronizing information with a PC application.
The Qwest SPH-M520 handset has the capabilities to print pictures, via PictBridge, or transfer files to or from a PC to the handset's memory card, both using an USB cable. There are no configurable USB settings necessary for PictBridge printing and the only setting required for transferring files, via an USB cable, is the Mass Storage "Connect to PC". The mass storage feature allows you to connect a USB data cable from the Qwest SPH-M520 handset to a computer, manage your files using the file manager, and check the available memory information.
To access the Connect to PC option follow the steps below:
Note: This procedure requires that a compatible memory card be installed into the handset prior to connection with the computer. (See “Using a microSD™ Memory Card With Your Phone” on page 29 of the Qwest SPH-M520 handset user guide.)
Important: Media files, such as MP3 or 3gp files, must be located in the memory card's Media folder to be accessed by the handset. Pictures, such as jpeg files, must be located in the memory card's DCIM 100ssmed folder to be accessed by the handset.
