What Are The Benefits Of Using The Super AMOLED In My Verizon Wireless SCH-i400 Phone?
The SCH-i400 is the first Galaxy S phone to come with two S-AMOLED displays. The main ultra billant 3.4in display, operating at WVGA (800x480 pixels) technology, is capapable of producing up to 16 million colors, and has benefits over the 1st generation AMOLED, TFT, and LCD displays. The removal of the tradational air gap along with the and upper glass layer offers greater visibility in bright light environments with reduced glare, free viewing angle, and faster response times. This also equates into having a slimmer form factor. As with AMOLED, the S-AMOELD generates images using a black pallete vs a white without a need for a backlight. This helps contributes to enhanced battery life. With having a high contrast ratio, this helps the human eye better indentify objects in a dark place than in a bright spot.
The SCH-i400 "tickertape" sub displays measures 1.8in and operates at 94x480 WVGA resolution.
